The APMA Legislative Conference is an annual event in Washington, DC, where APMA members of all career levels to engage in advocacy efforts by meeting with their members of Congress and their legislative staff to discuss health care policies that impact patient care and the podiatric profession.
Attendees receive training on key legislative issues affecting podiatric medicine and meet with members of Congress and their staff to discuss policies that impact patient care and the profession. It also serves as a platform to encourage political engagement and support for APMAPAC.
New for 2026: APMA will schedule your Congressional meetings on Tuesday, March 17, on your behalf. Your meeting schedule will be communicated to you closer to the conference.

Before traveling to the nation's capital, conference attendees are encouraged to join the virtual conference training on Monday, March 2, from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm EDT. This Teams meeting will provide an insight on APMA's Legislative Conference, serve as a preview into what to expect when attendees are in Washington, DC, and allow for state teams to gather and begin to prepare for their Congressional meetings on March 17. The APMA Protecting Our Profession, or simply APMA POP, is a separate segregated source of financial resources used for federal legislative education, initiatives, and issue awareness. This includes funding approximately 50 percent of the annual Podiatric Medical Legislative Conference, and public awareness initiatives. These funds cannot be used directly to support candidates for federal office.
The American Podiatric Medical Association Political Action Committee (APMAPAC) is a separate, segregated fund of the American Podiatric Medical Association. AMPAPAC supports bipartisan federal candidates who champion podiatric medicine's issues before the U.S. Congress. All contributions are voluntary. Federal election law does not permit corporate contributions to be used for donation to candidates for federal office. Political contributions are not deductible for income tax purposes.
