Search Continues for APMA Clinical Affairs Position

APMA has commenced a search for a well-qualified individual to lead its clinical practice activities. The selected individual will serve as a scientific resource on matters related to the practice of podiatric medicine and be responsible for initiatives related to the curricular development related to implementation of clinical educational programs; the collection, analysis, and dissemination of socioeconomic research data; coordination of peer review activities; providing assistance on all clinical issues within the scope of podiatric medical practice; knowledge and evaluation of incentive programs related to electronic health records and quality measures; development of  educational and clinical policies and procedures; responding to inquiries on APMA's website and from the public in general; working with APMA volunteers and committees in the areas of clinical practice and education; assisting in the coordination of the APMA Young Physicians' Program; and maintaining liaisons with health-care and other organizations.

The ideal candidate will be expected to meet the following requirements for the position:

  • Education:
    DPM preferred with demonstrated outstanding educational credentials such as: track record of publications and research, board certification (i.e., ABFAS and/or ABPM).
  • Experience and Background:
    Content knowledge in medical/health care related matters is critical for the position including skill along with knowledge in research design and methodology, survey development, and statistical analysis. Candidates also must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, strong ability to work with others in a team environment and independently as necessary, and be skillful in addressing and prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously while consistently satisfying deadlines.
  • Length of Experience:
    Minimum of five years in an academic, clinical, or health profession setting with progressive growth in responsibilities.
