Job Type: Full-Time Associate

Summary: Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is GROWING and actively seeking a DPM. The Physician will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, providing comprehensive patient care, lead cross-functional patient-centric care teams and maintain electronic medical records in compliance with Neighborhood Health Center’s standards with high efficiency. For more than 30 years, NHC has delivered quality healthcare to the communities we serve. Responsibilities: Provides primary podiatric medicine to Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) patients. Performs initial examinations and prescribes routine treatment. Prescribes medications as needed. -Orders needed tests and x-rays. Establishes patient treatment plans. -Refers patients to specialists, clinics and supportive services as appropriate. Admits patients to affiliated hospitals. Maintains problem-oriented medical records. Reviews lab reports daily. Rotates on-call coverage for evenings, holidays and weekends. Attends in-services and trainings or other required meetings to enhance professional growth and development through educational programs. Provides outreach and speaking to community groups. Assists in the development of procedures and policies related to accountability. Assists in developing and implementing metrics to measure effectiveness of this position. Adheres to universal precautions and infection control standards of practice within the clinical setting. Maintains competency in organizational emergency protocols and response. Adheres to HIPAA practice standards of patient confidentiality at all times including use of EHR. Adheres to clinical standards of dress appropriate for health care professionals. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited college of podiatric medicine Must possess a current NYS Professional Podiatry In addition a minimum of 2 year podiatric surgical residency is required. Experience working with an Electronic Health Record system a plus Must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and manage deadlines well Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships Participation in clinical and quality improvement projects Commitment and experience working with underserved and diverse populations Strong interest in public health Experience in community center or urban sites preferred WHY NHC?
