The Podiatrist services to patients in skilled nursing facilities. He/she will diagnose and treat minor or serious injuries and diseases of the feet, ankles, and lower legs using a variety of testing and treatment methods. The Podiatrist will be assisted by a medical assistant and will perform analysis, pain relief management, and treatment on-site to patients/residents at the SNF location. He/she will diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot, ankle, and leg using a variety of testing methods, will surgically treat conditions such as corns, calluses, ingrown nails, tumors, shortened tendons, bunions, cysts, and abscesses, and will prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery as needed. The Podiatrist will advise residents about treatments and foot care techniques and will treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders. The Podiatrist will see patients in our main office or satellite offices as needed. Salary negotiable. Required: A Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (PDM) degree from an accredited college of podiatric medicine is required • Completion of a 3-year residency program is required • Current holder of a state podiatrist license • Board certification is highly preferred • High levels of empathy, analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication skills are required for this role • Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities.
