Medical Claims Denied Stamp

APMA has heard from many members about the problem with Aetna’s at-risk footcare with 59 modifier denials. APMA staff is in talks with Aetna about this issue, and is currently attempting to gather helpful examples of denied claims with supportive redacted case notes to submit to Aetna.

APMA still needs your help to fix this issue, and we will soon be reaching out to you with an update on what members can provide and where to submit these denied claim examples. As a reminder, members should always appeal claims that they know are improperly denied and should also use APMA’s 59 modifier tool kit for tools and resources to improve your chances of success.
