The APMA Legislative Committee has identified the Non-Opioids Prevent Addiction in the Nation (NOPAIN) Act, HR 3259/S 586, as a bill of interest for our members. The legislation seeks to curb America’s opioid epidemic at the point of origin. The NOPAIN Act is a novel federal legislative approach designed to encourage the utilization of non-opioid pain management approaches for patients. The legislation would update Medicare reimbursement policy to remove unnecessary barriers that limit patient and provider access to non-opioid options. In doing so, the bill aims to provide patients and providers with choices in how they manage pain. Visit https://bit.ly/nopainact to add your name to this new effort to raise awareness with Congress about non-opioid pain management.
