The Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons (AENS) was founded to promote the collaborative study and development of medical research regarding the treatment of extremity nerve disease. The mission of AENS is to provide charitable outreach and promote scientific research and education for extremity nerve treatment.

For over 25 years, on a weekly basis, the all-volunteer staff of the Baja Project for Crippled Children has operated a free clinic out of the Red Cross Hospital in Mexicali, Mexico. Once a month, project members perform surgery on patients with complex congenital and acquired neuromuscular deformities. The team of podiatric surgeons and residents operates on complex deformities such as congenital clubfoot. Additionally, deformities from polio are seen and treated.

Duties performed include surgical correction of congenital deformities, surgical treatment of clubfoot–pediatric/adult, surgical treatment of neuromuscular defect–Cerebral palsy and cavovarus deformity, and history and physical examination, casting, scrub assistances, and OR preparation.

International mission service is an integral part of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. International efforts reach out to those who rarely, if ever, have access to medical or dental health services, and the association partners with national organizations to provide educational training so local health-care providers can deliver improved care after a team leaves.

Des Moines University’s (DMU) global health department gives students, faculty, alumni, and others an opportunity to gain real-world experience in international medicine. DMU’s international experiences provide a breadth of cultural, social, political, and clinical experiences that are not available within the US. This medical mission provides services to the people of El Salvador and refines students' medical skills.

El Ayudante—the helper—is a Christian humanitarian organization based in León, Nicaragua, dedicated to partnering with the Nicaraguan people to transform the nation—one child, one family, and one community at a time.

Duties include work in medical clinics in rural Nicaraguan villages.

ENAHPA’s mission is to address the health-care needs of Ethiopians by enhancing access and delivery of medical services, promoting preventive care, and transferring knowledge, skills, and state-of-the-art technology.

Missions range from providing complex surgeries to weeks-long experiential training sessions for Ethiopian medical practitioners. Coupled with the outreach, mission participants are immersed in Ethiopia’s historic culture and traditions.

The Healthy Athletes program is dedicated to providing health services and education to Special Olympics athletes and changing the way health systems interact with people with intellectual disabilities. Through free health screenings, training for health-care professionals, and evaluation of the health status of people with intellectual disabilities, Healthy Athletes has become a powerful public health organization worldwide.

International Service Learning (ISL) enlists medical and educational volunteer teams to provide services to underserved populations in Central and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Africa.
ISL provides educational opportunities for students from over a hundred universities in several countries. It is the goal of ISL to partner student and professional teams from developed countries with service opportunities in developing countries.
The Kitchen’s mission is to create a place where persons, especially the poor, are welcomed and cared for with dignity and compassion.
The Kitchen is widely recognized as a progressive innovator for meeting needs and addressing root causes of poverty and homelessness. Services of The Kitchen include housing, food, counseling, health care, education, youth services, clothing, advocacy, life skills, and homelessness prevention.

Shepherd’s Clinic is a volunteer-driven organization that has been an innovator in providing health care for the uninsured. The clinic’s mission is to provide comprehensive health care for those who cannot afford commercial insurance yet do not qualify for government assistance. With a catchment area covering 13 Baltimore City zip codes, Shepherd’s Clinic provides health-care services through hundreds of dedicated volunteers.

Duties may include providing health care for the uninsured, podiatric medicine, and surgery.
The Sister Maura Brannick, CSC, Health Center provides primary health-care services to uninsured residents of St. Joseph County in Indiana. The focus is on the unemployed or working poor, providing services for those who fall below 150 percent of the federally designated poverty level. The volunteer physicians and staff provide primary medical services while stressing patient education and preventive health care for patients and their families.

The Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation (TPMF) is the charitable arm of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association. TPMF believes in reaching out to the community. Several programs have been developed to educate and assist those in need of proper foot-health care.

Purpose is to serve the underprivileged and to provide resident training and exposure.

The Yucatan Crippled Children's Project is a humanitarian effort of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. The project provides indigent crippled children from the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico with surgical care of deformed limbs. The program began as an outgrowth of humanitarian relief to the Yucatan in 1988 after Hurricane Gilbert.
