The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), a national organization representing the vast majority of podiatrists in the United States, respectfully requests your consideration of sponsorship for the 29th APMA GEF Annual Meeting & Continuing Education Seminar, which has been scheduled as follows:
October 10–14, 2018 * Pinehurst Resort, Pinehurst, NC
In the 20+ year history of the event, we have raised nearly $750,000 in support of the APMA Government Education Fund.
The Government Education Fund (GEF) is a separate segregated source of financial resources used for federal legislative education, lobbying initiatives, and legislative issue awareness. This includes funding approximately 50 percent of the annual Podiatric Medical Legislative Conference, as well as other public awareness initiatives. These funds cannot be used to support candidates for federal office.
The GEF receives all of its funding from the donations of APMA members, component societies, and corporations. Individual and corporate contributions are welcome and requested.
The APMA GEF Annual Meeting & Continuing Education Seminar will take place October 10-14 at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC. The event will offer continuing education content encompassing aspects of foot and ankle care. Now in its 29th year, the event sees an average of 45 participants, the majority of whom represent leadership from state and national podiatric medical societies affiliated with the APMA. Sponsorships received from sponsors of the APMA GEF Annual Meeting are applied to lobbying and legislative education activities of APMA, specifically the annual Podiatric Medical Legislative Conference held in Washington, DC, and covers general meeting expenses for the APMA GEF Annual Meeting. No sponsorship dollars may be used to support candidates for federal elective office. Sponsorship opportunities are available for non-continuing education programs. APMA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine and complies with all CPME and ACCME rules and regulations. APMA has approved this activity for 8 (eight) continuing education contact hours (CECH)*. Approval of the program has been requested from all state licensing boards.
* This number is based on attendance at all educational programs.

We also have a limited number of small sponsorship spots available.
Established in 1912, APMA is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit membership association and is the nation’s leading professional society for foot and ankle physicians and surgeons. We confidently approach our second century of service, knowing that we have gained significant ground in having the profession seen as an integral member of a medical team in hospitals, clinics, and offices across the country; in the legislative arena, in member and consumer education; and in the area of public and private insurance. We are grateful for your consideration of support for this sponsorship request for the 29th APMA GEF Annual Meeting and Continuing Education Seminar.
For more information on these opportunities, contact Benjamin J. Wallner in APMA's Legislative Advocacy Department at 301-581-9200.
