The 2023 APMA Fall Virtual Coding Seminar is a half-day online seminar that will provide attendees with a deep dive into foot- and ankle-specific coding issues. Certified professional coder Jeffrey D. Lehrman, DPM will instruct participants on a variety of topics to enhance processes and better serve patients.

Educational Credit Information 

APMA’s Continuing Education Mission Statement
The American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) advances and advocates for the profession of podiatric medicine and surgery for the benefit of its members and the public. To this end, APMA offers continuing education opportunities for podiatric physicians to meet their licensing requirements, to maintain and expand their knowledge, to provide optimum patient care, and to receive updates on advances in foot and ankle care. These educational opportunities may include face-to-face, web/ computer-based, and audio/video recorded continuing education activities.

Doctors of Podiatric Medicine

APMA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. APMA has approved the 2023 APMA Spring Coding Seminar for 4.0 continuing education contact hours (CECH). Podiatric physicians are responsible for reporting their attendance to all appropriate boards and agencies requiring continuing education. Credits may be registered with state boards by providing them with a copy of your CECH certificate. Only attendance of the live program will be eligible for CECH.

Podiatric Medical Assistants
APMA is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Podiatric Medical Assisting Certification (CAPMAC) as a sponsor of continuing education in podiatric medical assisting. Program participants may earn up to 4.0 continuing medical education (CME) hours. Podiatric medical assistants are responsible for reporting their attendance to the recertification committee. Only attendance of the live program will be eligible for CME. Only 20 credits are required per year for certification renewal. 

Certified Professional Coders
APMA is approved by AAPC as a provider of continuing education units (CEUs) for certified professional coders. This program meets AAPC guidelines for 4.0 CEUs, which can be split between Core A and all specialties except CIRCC for continuing education units. Only attendance of the live program will be eligible for CEUs. Certified professional coders are responsible for reporting their attendance to AAPC.

To ensure that APMA continues to provide you with a meaningful educational program and an exceptional experience during this internet live activity, APMA requires that all attendees complete the overall seminar evaluation prior to issuance of a certificate. The evaluation will be available via the learning management system at the conclusion of the educational program. For DPMs and podiatric medical assistants, once you have completed your evaluations, certificates may be downloaded from the learning management system. For certified professional coders, you will receive your CEU certificate via email, in the week following the seminar.
