Personal Bio: Passionate about connecting with her patients, Dr. Oakman, fondly known as Dr. Joy is proud to serve her community with care and trust in mind. Specializing in foot and ankle surgery, with special interests in sports medicine, trauma cases, reconstructive correction, and routine foot care, Dr. Oakman prioritizes each patient’s specific needs to customize a treatment plan to fit them best. After graduating from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Physiology, Dr. Oakman enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where she took an active role as a medical volunteer, biomechanical research assistant, and student organizational leader. After receiving her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from Temple University, she then completed her podiatric residency credentialed in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at Hoboken University Medical Center where she served as a Chief Resident. Dr. Oakman has presented many posters at international sports medicine and podiatric conferences, and has also authored and co-authored several publications. She holds advanced certifications in American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons Arthroscopy and American Academy of Foot & Ankle Osteosynthesis Comprehensive Internal Fixation. Dr. Oakman is board qualified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in forefoot and rearfoot/ankle surgery. When she isn’t busy keeping up with the latest advancements and techniques in podiatric medicine and surgery, Dr. Joy enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, playing piano, traveling, trying new food, and staying active. Currently looking for open positions in New Jersey.
