In support of Nevada podiatrists, APMA recently submitted a letter to the Nevada State Senate, supporting a legislative proposal that would ensure the Nevada State Board of Podiatry remains separate and independent from other boards. The proposal would create an Office of Shared Services that would address common administrative and overhead concerns that all licensing boards face.
APMA again expressed its significant concerns with Senate Bill 78, which would disband the NSBP and regulate podiatrists instead on a single board with unrelated allied health-care professionals. APMA opposed this bill previously in March when it was initially introduced and shared its concerns with Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo and the sponsoring Nevada Senate Revenue and Economic Development Chair, Dina Neal.
Nevada is the latest state to propose dissolving independent state boards and consolidating them with other state boards, to the detriment of licensed podiatrists in the state.
