Members should be aware that NPEast has announced it is developing a DMEPOS licensure database for only the states and territories east of the Mississippi River and expect this database to be released in early July 2025.
With this change, NPWest will maintain a licensure database for only the states and territories west of the Mississippi River. Currently, NPWest provides a licensure database for the entire country. NPEast and NPWest are the National Provider Enrollment DMEPOS contractors, responsible for processing enrollment applications for suppliers of DMEPOS.
APMA members are encouraged to include their active, current podiatric licenses in their DMEPOS enrollment applications. Podiatrists must hold active state licensure in the states included in their DMEPOS enrollment applications. This consideration is especially important for members who provide services in multiple states. When the licensure database change referenced above takes effect, those who provide services on both sides of the Mississippi River will need to access both the NPEast and NPWest databases to determine which states have licensure requirements.
