Congressional champions recently introduced HR 7905/S. 4070, the Diabetes Foot Health Access and Modernization Act, which would modernize outdated Medicare documentation requirements that cause significant delays in care for therapeutic shoes and establish Medicaid coverage parity for podiatrists. To help support the advancement of this priority legislation and facilitate member advocacy, APMA created a new web page where all resources and updates will be published.
The page includes information on bill co-leads, endorsing organizations, press releases, bill text, and opportunities for members to take action on APMA's eAdvocacy website, which allows users to send emails urging their lawmakers to cosponsor the legislation. The page also includes a toolkit of supporting materials to help members advocate for the legislation with lawmakers.
