APMA would like to congratulate the Tennessee Podiatric Medical Association (TPMA) on a major legislative victory after its scope of practice modernization bill passed both chambers of the Tennessee General Assembly with overwhelming bipartisan support. According to TPMA, the bill passed the Senate by a vote of 31-1 and the House by a vote of 89-0.
The measure is a historic milestone for podiatric medicine in Tennessee, and TPMA credited the achievement to years of sustained advocacy and strong collaboration. APMA was proud to support this effort and submitted a letter to state representative Brock Martin (R), Chairman of the House Health Subcommittee, in support of the legislation. We applaud TPMA’s leadership, strategic advocacy, and coalition-building to advance this important effort to modernize podiatric scope in Tennessee.
Congratulations to TPMA and all those who helped make this milestone possible!
