The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) payment adjustment information for the 2025 performance period, which determines adjustments to Medicare payments in 2027.
MIPS-eligible clinicians with a final score above 75 points will receive a positive adjustment; those scoring exactly 75 points will receive no adjustment; and those scoring below 75 points will receive a negative adjustment.
APMA is hearing that the maximum positive payment adjustment for 2027, based on a perfect score of 100 points, is 1.38 percent. While relatively low, as expected, this is slightly higher than the 1.05 percent maximum for the 2024 performance period/2026 payment year. The amount may change slightly following targeted reviews.
APMA members should log in to the Quality Payment Program website to review their final scores, performance feedback, and payment adjustment factors. Members who believe CMS incorrectly calculated their score or adjustment may request a targeted review by November 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
CMS has also released the following payment adjustment and performance feedback resources:
