CMS recently shared two updates related to Quality Payment Program participation:
2025 MIPS Final Scores
CMS expects to release final MIPS scores for the 2025 performance year by late September. The Targeted Review period will open when final scores become available, giving clinicians an opportunity to request a review of their scores. CMS expects to release corresponding 2027 MIPS payment adjustments approximately one month later. Clinicians can check their 2025 MIPS eligibility now and review CMS scoring resources in preparation for the release of final scores.
APM Incentive Payments
CMS has published a list of clinicians who qualified for a 2026 Alternative Payment Model (APM) incentive payment but for whom CMS cannot identify the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) needed to issue payment. Clinicians on the list must submit the requested billing information to CMS by October 13 or forfeit the payment. View the CMS advisory here.
