S. 5180, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act Comment Letter

Senate Bill Would Bring Greater Medicare Payment Stability for Podiatrists

APMA is continuing to advocate for more predictable and sustainable Medicare reimbursement for podiatrists. Most recently, APMA sent a letter of support to Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Peter Welch (D-VT) for S. 5180, the Provider Reimbursement Stability Act.

The bipartisan, bicameral legislation would help protect podiatric physicians from unexpected Medicare payment reductions, provide greater financial stability for practices and improve payment stability by limiting annual conversion factor changes.

Earlier in 2026, APMA also endorsed the House companion bill. Together, these efforts are part of APMA's ongoing work to address Medicare payment instability and advocate for reimbursement policies that better support podiatrists' ability to care for their patients. | READ THE LETTER >
