APMA Educational Foundation Annual Scientific Meeting (The National) Travel Scholarship

The APMA Educational Foundation is accepting submissions for the 2024 Travel Scholarship Video Contest! Travel scholarships for the APMA 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting (The National) are available for eligible student and residents. Contest winners will be granted a $500 award to be used toward travel expenses at the conclusion of the meeting. For more information on The National, visit www.apma.org/thenational

APMA Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund

The 2024–25 APMA Educational Foundation Scholarship Application is now closed. Award notifications will be emailed in September and funds will be sent directly to your school's financial aid office.  

The APMA Educational Foundation Scholarship Fund is the only national funding resource devoted to students at the colleges of podiatric medicine. See 2023’s scholarship recipients

Eligibility  

All third- and fourth-year students from the following colleges of podiatric medicine are eligible to apply: Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine at Midwestern University; Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine; Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery; Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science; Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine; New York College of Podiatric Medicine; Samuel Merritt University College of Podiatric Medicine; Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine; Western University of Health Sciences College of Podiatric Medicine, and rising third-year students from University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Podiatric Medicine.

Candidates for Educational Foundation scholarships are selected by the College Scholarship and Student Loan Committee based on the following criteria:

  • Financial need
  • Grade Point Average (minimum of 2.5 GPA)
  • Podiatric medical student in good standing as determined by the academic institution
  • Rising third- or fourth year student status
  • Demonstrated commitment to APMA's mission by way of podiatric community/school service

Quick Facts

  • Scholarship applicants must be members of APMA. All students are offered complimentary student membership with APMA. If you are not yet a member, contact the APMA Membership department, or complete the student membership form.
  • The scholarship fund awards scholarships to podiatric medical students from the nine accredited colleges of podiatric medicine.
  • Annually, the scholarship fund assists approximately 200 students, and this number continues to grow.
  • The minimum level of scholarship support is $1,000.
  • The scholarship fund distributes approximately $400,000 each year.
  • The scholarship fund has distributed more than $5 million in scholarship dollars to more than 4,000 students.

Application and Deadlines

The 2024–25 scholarship application is now closed. It is important to note that late, incomplete, or applications not meeting the minimum eligibility requirements will not be considered. Funds will be disbursed in early fall. Scholarship checks will be sent directly to your school’s financial aid office.
