The state legislature is the branch of a state government that, broadly speaking, makes laws that govern many aspects of our daily lives. Prior to introducing a legislative proposal, state associations should determine the frequency and duration of a legislative session, as well as the size of the legislature, to appropriately budget for a successful advocacy campaign.
