APMA has made great strides in its student recruitment efforts in a short period of time. The Step into Podiatry website has had more than 136,000 pageviews since its launch in January, and during the COVID-19 public health crisis, the site has hosted several webinars to help potential applicants connect with current students and admissions administrators.

No one is better suited to talk about the benefits of a career in podiatry than current podiatrists. APMA is asking you to do your part for student recruitment by joining the Mentor Network. You can now opt-in through your account profile on APMA.org, making the process easier than ever:

• Log in to APMA.org
• Click “My Account” on the top of the screen
• Click “Update Contact and Mentor Info”
• Scroll down, select the box next to “Become a Podiatry Mentor”
• Click “Save”

Understanding that in-person shadowing may not be practical right now, consider doing virtual shadowing or holding video calls with potential applicants. Do you need additional resources? Check out the student recruitment toolkit.
