Updated 12/2/2020 - CMS announced on December 2, 2020 that the deadline to apply for the COVID-19 MIPS Hardship Exception is now February 1, 2021.
CMS announced on June 24 that any clinician "significantly impacted" by the COVID-19 public health emergency may submit an Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Application to reweight any or all MIPS performance categories for the 2020 PY if they choose. This decision was a welcome announcement after APMA had requested 2020 MIPS flexibilities in communications with CMS. The deadline, previously December 31, 2020, is now February 1, 2021.
