Medicare Second Distribution Application Portal Reopened
HHS has reopened the Phase 1 General Distribution Application portal. Medicare providers who missed the first opportunity to apply for additional funding from the $20 billion portion of this $50 billion fund may apply August 10–28. This fund originally closed in late May.
The HHS Provider Relief Fund page for providers has application information, where you can find application instructions and the application portal for submitting the necessary financial data. APMA has a comprehensive Provider Relief Fund page (www.apma.org/providerrelief) as part of its COVID-19 resources.
Medicaid/CHIP Application Deadline Reminder
Don’t forget that the deadline to apply for the Medicaid/CHIP Provider Relief Fund tranche was extended to August 28. Providers who participate in state Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and who have not received any funds from the general distribution are eligible to apply for funds from this tranche. The payment to each provider will be approximately 2 percent of reported gross revenue from patient care; the final amount each provider receives will be determined after the data is submitted. HHS has released a fact sheet on this third round.
