Every year, a new ICD-10-CM code set is released and takes effect October 1. This year, there are 490 total additions, 58 deletions, and 47 revisions. Among the changes are new codes pertaining to osteoarthritis, substance abuse, osteoporosis, and osteochondritis. Many of these changes are pertinent to most podiatric practices, such as the following new ICD-10 codes:
The total number of ICD-10-CM codes is now 72,616. APMA Coding Resource Center (CRC) subscribers can view a full list of these changes. The CRC will include the entire new code set on October 1. All practices should be using the new ICD-10 code set as of October 1.
