Join us at 3 p.m. in Aurora Ballroom A (or online) for the Opening Session of The National. This year, we’ll hear from the inspirational Natalie Stavas, MD, the Program Director for Child Protection Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego. In this role, she mentors medical students, residents, and fellows toward a path of fulfillment in medicine. Her research on caring for vulnerable children has won awards and been highlighted on multiple media outlets. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Stavas has focused her research on how COVID-19 is affecting children’s health and physical wellbeing.
On April 15, 2013, Dr. Stavas was living and working in Boston. As she approached the finish line of her fifth Boston marathon, she heard explosions just blocks away—and she chose to run towards them. Arriving at the scene she went to work administering CPR, applying tourniquets, and triaging the wounded.
Learn from Dr. Stavas, hear from APMA President Jeffrey DeSantis, DPM, FACFAS, and get excited about the Grand Opening of the Exhibit Hall, immediately following the Opening Session.
