Providers should now be using the new ICD-10-CM code set that took effect October 1. Many of this year's changes are pertinent to podiatric medicine and surgery, including revisions to ICD-10 codes for anemia, homelessness, and Sjögren syndrome. Some new ICD-10 codes include:

  • D75.838 Other thrombocytosis
  • D75.839 Thrombocytosis, unspecified
  • F32.A Depression, unspecified
  • Z55.5 Less than a high school diploma
  • U09.9 Post COVID-19 condition, unspecified
  • Z20.822 Contact with and (suspected) exposure to COVID-19
  • Z86.16 Personal history of COVID-19

APMA will host a webinar on all podiatry-relevant ICD-10 changes on December 2. Register now! Also, APMA Coding Resource Center (CRC) subscribers can view a full list of these changes now on the CRC home page. The CRC ICD-10 listings have been updated to reflect the current code set.
