More Progress on Amniotic Injections Advocacy Efforts

April 4, 2022

Update! written on green paper in clothespin

Since the last APMA update on this subject, all seven Part B Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) have removed the guidance that they would be denying claims for amniotic injections for musculoskeletal conditions effective March 16, and recouping payment for claims going back to December 6, 2019. APMA is collaborating with others to determine exactly what the removal of this guidance means for its members.

APMA encourages members who perform this service and submit for payment of this service to third-party payers to follow that payer’s current guidelines regarding provision of this service. Be sure to follow APMA’s Weekly Focus and visit www.apma.org/medicare and www.apma.org/news for updates.
