MIPS Automatic Extreme and Uncontrollable Circumstances Policy Applied for Puerto Rico, Parts of Florida

In response to FEMA’s designation of Hurricane Fiona and Hurricane Ian as major disasters and the Secretary of HHS’ determination that public health emergencies exist for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and certain areas in Florida, CMS has determined that the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) automatic extreme and uncontrollable circumstances (EUC) policy will apply to MIPS-eligible clinicians in Puerto Rico and designated areas of Florida.
