Paul K. Kesselman, DPM, chair of APMA’s DME Advisory Group and DME Subcommittee, recently attended Medtrade 2024, an essential meeting of the medical equipment industry. He also regularly represents APMA at DME Council meetings.

During the conference, Dr. Kesselman participated in discussions on updates to DME LCDs with the DME MAC medical directors, provider outreach staff, and policy writers. He also had the opportunity to interact with the enrollment (NPE) agencies, where he made suggestions regarding various issues facing providers. The impact of the Change Healthcare cyberattack was discussed, along with forthcoming solutions.

Also addressed at Medtrade were the following topics:

  • all phases of DME documentation;
  • numerous types of audits, including post payment RAC audits and Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) audits;
  • the use of A.I.; and
  • practice workflows.

APMA’s representation at quarterly DME council meetings and annual meetings such as Medtrade and the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) are an example of APMA’s continued dedication provide members with essential and timely information.
