In this case presentation, a 44-year-old male was referred to the Physical Medicine and Rehab (PM&R) Department at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland because of limitations in activities of daily living (ADL) and restricted mobility. What followed was an expected lesson in preparing for all possibilities.
