Eligibility for New York State license, Board Certified/Board eligible in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Forefoot and/or Rearfoot.Preferred QualificationsRecord of success in basic or clinical research, interest and experience supervising undergraduate/graduate medical students, residents and fellows. Must have completed an CPME accredited three year Hospital Residency Program.Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Podiatric surgeon is an integral part of the Surgical Service, a section of Vascular Surgery and provides a number of important duties. they include but are not limited to the following:Perform foot and ankle surgeries, for both emergent and non-emergent , elective reconstructive and limb salvage procedures.Appropriate referral for Consultation to Internal Medicine, Vascular Surgery, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Pain management as needed.Participate in Cadaver lab, and lecture series with the residents on a weekly basis.Daily hospital rounds, weekly clinical patient responsibilities in the outpatient facilities, OR cases in both the main Hospital and Ambulatory Surgery Center as scheduled.On call as per the Podiatry Team, with Hospital and ER coverage 24/7 every third week.Responsible for entering appropriate notes into the official medical record using the Computerized Patient Record System. This includes dictating office notes and operative reports on a timely basis.Special NotesThis is a non-tenure track position.
