Team APMA 5K

Join APMA in our second virtual edition of the Team APMA 5K.

This year, the race celebrates 11 years of supporting the APMA Educational Foundation. Each year, thanks to the generosity of APMA members and friends, the foundation awards more than 200 scholarships to podiatric medical students, advancing the growth and stability of podiatric medicine.

Proceeds from your registration will support student financial aid through the foundation. Scholarships are awarded annually to eligible third- and fourth-year podiatric medical students at the nine accredited colleges of podiatric medicine.

More than 1,700 runners and walkers have participated in the APMA 5K Run/Walk, raising more than $170,000 since its inception. Show your support as we celebrate this milestone.

How Does a Virtual Run Work?

1) Register for the event. The first 200 participants will receive a limited edition Team APMA 5K Challenge T-shirt.

2) Choose your course. It can be anywhere (The National, a nearby park, favorite trail, your backyard, even a treadmill) and with anyone (social distancing of course).

3) Choose your virtual pace! Whether you run, walk, jog, or skip, what matters most is that you are supporting APMA.

4) Celebrate your accomplishment by posting a picture on social media in your race gear with the hashtags #TeamAPMA and #IrunWithTeamAPMA. Once you have completed your run, submit your race time to the leaderboard.

Here's the Challenge: Run the marathon! Break it down into shorter segments and spread it over a week. That's only 3.7 miles per day.

Social Media:

How many miles do I run?

  • 5K = 3.1 miles
  • 10K = 6.2 miles
  • Marathon = 26.2 miles
