2022 Virtual Legislative Conference

As the only organization lobbying for podiatrists and their patients on Capitol Hill, APMA goes above and beyond in its legislative advocacy efforts to ensure your priorities are represented. As part of our commitment to advocacy, APMA will host the 2022 APMA Virtual Legislative Conference and Advocacy Week on April 27. This is your opportunity to advocate for the profession before elected officials and policymakers at the national level. All members are invited to register now to participate.

APMA has partnered with Advocacy Associates, a digital lobbying firm in Washington, DC, which will secure appointments for you and others from your state to meet with your US Representative and Senators virtually on April 27. APMA will also provide meeting materials and talking points and will post a webinar on our website with these details around April 15.

Priorities to be discussed include:

  • APMA's HELLPP Act seeking Medicaid physician recognition
  • Amputation Reduction & Compassion Act to increase utilization of PAD screenings; and
  • Chronic Condition Copay Elimination Act to require coverage for preventive care for individuals with chronic conditions without requiring cost-sharing by the patient.
