The Biden Administration announced on October 13 that it is extending the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) for another 90 days, through January 11, 2023. This extension ensures that policies like expanded Medicaid benefits, telehealth coverage, and extra payments to hospitals and doctors will continue.

As APMA members may recall, CMS released its Roadmap to the End of the Public Health Emergency back in August. This roadmap states there will be a 60-day notice before the end of the PHE. It also lays out the timeline for ending certain flexibilities related to the PHE. To see all of APMA’s resources related to COVID-19, visit www.apma.org/COVID19.
